Lights, Camera, Action! A Night of Celebration at the 2024 Queensland Training Awards.

The spotlight was on Queensland’s top employers and innovators as the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre came alive with the excitement of the prestigious Queensland Training Awards. The evening celebrated excellence in training and workforce development, recognizing outstanding contributions from organizations across the state.

The night’s top accolades went to some remarkable organizations:

• Small Employer of the Year: Gunggandji-Mandingalbay Yidinji Peoples Prescribed Body Corporate Aboriginal Corporation
• Medium Employer of the Year: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
• Large Employer of the Year: Riviera Australia

Each of these winners has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in training and upskilling their workforce, ensuring their employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in their respective industries.

While Major Training Group proudly stood as a state finalist for the Premier’s Collaboration Award, the honor went to the Palm Island Digital Service Centre. This award recognizes the collective effort and innovation of a collaboration involving TAFE Queensland, Palm Island Community Company (PICC), Telstra Australia, Rainbow Gateway, Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council, Back to Work, Advance Queensland–Deadly Innovation, Queensland Government Customer + Digital Group, and MEGT Australia. Their shared vision of digital transformation and community empowerment was truly inspiring and deserving of this prestigious recognition.

Major Trainings very own student, Leah Garling, took out the title of Equity Student of the Year, making great things happen at Manoora Neighbourhood Centre.
