OVERVIEW
This refresher course is designed to revisit key concepts and topics related to operating and driving an elevated work platform (EWP). You can complete the course at our training facilities in Morayfield and Yatala (near Brisbane and the Gold Coast) or at your job site.
What is an EWP refresher course? You need to continually demonstrate your competency in operating an elevating work platform to obtain a new EWP licence when your current one expires. This means you should complete a quick but comprehensive EWP refresher course, where you’ll recap how to plan, prepare, operate, maintain, service, and pack up an EWP in a workplace scenario.
Upon completion, you’ll be issued a nationally recognised statement of attainment (SOA) that proves your competency. With this, you can apply for a new EWP ticket from the Elevating Work Platform Association (EWPA).

Who is this course for? Our EWP refresher is designed for experienced professionals who have already completed their EWP ticket and need to renew it or refresh their competencies.
It’s ideal for anyone working in building and construction, engineering, mining and energy, warehousing, electrotechnology, civil construction, manufacturing, logistics, or the transport and supply chain sector.
What skills will you learn? This refresher course revisits all key topics and procedures for operating an elevating work platform over 11m, including:
- Plan lifting tasks and apply clear control measures
- Conduct routine checks on your work platform
- Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments
- Set up and pack away the equipment safely
- Operate elevating work platform equipment under supervision
- Operate a boom-type elevating work platform in different on-site conditions
- Complete shutdown and secure procedures
- Communication with ground crews while working at height

EWP Refresher Course
