OVERVIEW
A White Card, also known as a general construction induction card, is required for workers carrying out construction work. The requirement isn’t limited to construction workers. Site managers, supervisors, labourers, and tradespeople are required to hold a White Card if they access active construction sites.
The good thing is that this qualification is straightforward to obtain. You simply need to complete the Work Health & Safety (WHS) general construction induction training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Major Training delivers the nationally recognised unit of competency CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry. As it should be, our White Card course complies with WHS’s regulations, providing comprehensive training and a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.
For Gold Coast-based individuals who are looking to join the construction industry, completing a White Card training is the first step to kickstarting your career. At Major, we make it simple and efficient from the get-go, so learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to operate on construction worksites. Our program covers basic construction concepts, relevant government bodies, and personal protective equipment (PPE)—everything you need to know to get certified.
Course Details
The Gold Coast White Card course combines theoretical learning and real-world applications to prepare you for safe work on construction sites. The core skills you’ll develop through this training include identifying common workplace hazards, following WHS procedures, and meeting the required induction requirements for the construction industry. The steps are really easy. Simply enrol in a 1-day course with Major Training and receive your White Card upon completion.
After completing the course, you’re good to go. No waiting, just instant access to the qualification you need. With a White Card, you can legally work on construction sites across the Gold Coast, opening doors to a wide range of entry-level and specialised roles.
Since the Gold Coast is currently experiencing one of the largest infrastructure and construction booms in its history, a White Card is especially valuable in the region. In fact, the City of Gold Coast recently reported over $23 billion in major projects underway, with 75 active construction cranes across the skyline. Transport infrastructure in the region is also on the rise, with major ongoing projects like the Coomera Connector Stage 1, the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail, and the Gold Coast Light Rail expansions.
The Gold Coast’s public transport network upgrades are part of broader efforts to prepare for the 2032 Games. Simply put, these projects and transport upgrades are creating plenty of job opportunities where a White Card on the Gold Coast can come in handy.
