Construction Traineeship
Active Queenslanders Industry Alliance is seeking expressions of interest to undertake an entry level PAID Construction Traineeship.
This 18-week Construction Traineeship will involve refurbishment and maintenance work at the Southern Districts Basketball Club in Carina and commences in early September 2024.

- A Certificate I in Construction qualification.
- Additional training in White Card and First Aid.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
- Practical experience in real work situations that align with your training.
To be successful you will need the following:
- Commitment and enthusiasm with a genuine interest in construction.
- A positive attitude.
- Own reliable transport (driver’s licence and car preferred but not essential as work site is close to public transport).
Participants will be employed for a 38-hour week (full-time contract) and paid under the National Training Award. In addition, support and preparation for future employment will also be provided.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7.00am – 3.00pm.
Who can apply?
- Must be a Queensland resident aged 16 years and older.
- Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand citizen or temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to a permanent residency.
- Have not previously completed a Certificate I in Construction.
- Not in full-time/stable employment.
- Not currently a full-time student at TAFE, University or School.
