What’s Included At Our Training Facilities

Our training facilities are equipped with classrooms and simulated work environments to enhance learning. Students get everything they need (such as tools, PPE, and qualified trainers) to complete practical training and study core theory.

Expect a large, well-equipped training area for all kinds of trades and industries, including switchboards for electricians, warehouses for forklift driving, specially designed confined spaces, controlled hazards, and rigs and installations for specific training scenarios.

We serve regions across Queensland and northern NSW, including:

  • Brisbane: Our Brisbane-based training centre is located in Virginia and serves the surrounding suburbs like Chermside, Aspley, North Lakes, and Strathpine.
  • Gold Coast: We also serve the Gold Coast with a dedicated training facility in Yatala, right in the heart of the Yatala Enterprise Area and booming industries.
  • Caboolture/Morayfield: For those located on the Sunshine Coast, our nearest training centre is in Caboolture and Morayfield.
  • Dinmore/Ipswich: East of Brisbane, you can find Major Training in Ipswich and Dinmore.
  • Cairns: If you’re located in north QLD, you can attend training courses at our Cairns facility with experienced teachers and nationally recognised certifications.
  • NSW: We also serve New South Wales, specifically Newcastle and the northern regions.

What learning environments are there at your training centres?

At each Major Training centre, you can expect modern, industry-standard facilities designed to provide hands-on training for blue-collar professions. We provide indoor learning environments and classrooms for dedicated study and coursework, as well as simulated outdoor work environments to help you train for all kinds of work scenarios.

 

Can Major Training come to our workplace or job site?

Yes, Major Training offers private on-site training for groups or organisations that require flexible, location-specific training. Our trainers can deliver courses at your workplace, job site, or any agreed-upon location across Queensland and northern NSW. This option is ideal for businesses looking to upskill their teams without disrupting their operations. Contact us to discuss your needs and schedule a session.

 

Do you cover travel costs to and from Major Training centres?

While Major Training doesn’t cover travel costs to and from our centres, your employer may subsidise or reimburse your travel costs (such as bus fares and petrol). Additionally, you may be eligible for Queensland funding options that cover travel costs for trade courses and apprenticeships.

 

Are Major Training locations accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes, we are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment. All Major Training centres are designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, with features such as wheelchair access and disabled parking. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please let us know in advance so we can ensure your needs are met during your visit.

 

Are your training facilities open on weekends?

Depending on demand and availability, we can arrange private weekend sessions at our training centres across Queensland and NSW. However, our training centres are generally closed on weekends.

Career Start

Career Start, funded by Department of Trade, Employment and Training supports Queensland job seekers to start their career, or move into more skilled roles or full-time employment.

Smart & Skilled

Smart and Skilled is the central NSW Government program for vocational education and training (VET) and is also the vehicle for delivering NSW Fee Free.

Career Boost

Career Boost, funded by Department of Trade, Employment and Training, helps Queenslanders to level-up at work, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new roles, and support productivity growth and workplace innovation.

CSQ Funding

If you’re considering upskilling in construction, you may be able to receive support from CSQ funding. Where CSQ funding doesn’t cover the full cost of the program, you will be required to contribute towards the remaining course fees.

VET in Schools (VETiS)

VETiS supports secondary school students in Year 10, 11 or 12 to undertake VET qualifications funded by Department of Trade Employment and Training while they are still at school.

Study Now Pay Later
