Roller Ticket

A Roller ticket, achieved through specialised training and certification, denotes proficiency in operating rollers—a type of heavy construction equipment used for compacting surfaces such as soil, asphalt, and gravel. Possessing a Roller licence showcases expertise in proper compaction techniques and equipment operation. This qualification opens pathways to diverse roles within construction, roadworks, and related industries.

Possible Roles

Roller Operator: As a roller operator, you'll be responsible for operating rollers to compact and smooth surfaces during construction, road building, and paving projects, ensuring surfaces are even and sturdy.

• Earthworks Compactor: Operators with a roller licence assist in earthmoving projects by compacting soil and backfill to create stable foundations for building structures and preventing ground settlement.

Landfill Compactor Operator: In waste management, roller operators are involved in compacting and compressing waste materials in landfills to maximize space efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Road Construction Crew Member: Within road construction teams, roller operators contribute to creating durable and safe road surfaces by compacting asphalt layers, subbase, and other materials to specified densities.

Airport Runway Maintenance: Roller operators play a role in maintaining airport runways, taxiways, and aprons by compacting the surfaces to meet aviation safety standards.

Sports Field and Golf Course Maintenance: Roller operators maintain sports fields and golf courses by compacting turf and soil to create level and playable surfaces.

Potential wages could be in the region of $80,000 to $100,000 per year

Awesome!! After coming from TAFE the training is so much better.
Awesome!! After coming from TAFE the training is so much better. Smaller classes better and more knowledgeable teachers who care about the students and more flexible learning (being able to do most of the work from home). TAFE felt like it was just there to keep apprentices there for as long as possible (spending 8 hours to do 2 hours of work) but here it’s all based around the student, come in for the morning to to finish up units then go back to work for the rest of the day.

Would definitely recommend to others
The staff were very friendly, trainer Carl made it very easy to learn what was needed and helped when I was struggling. Crane operator pat was very kind and made it easy to do the lifts. Amazing operator. Would definitely recommend to others and will be coming back to learn other skills. 👍

Professional Trainers
