Have you held a (C) class driver’s licence for at least a year? Major Training Group’s Medium Rigid Licence can jumpstart your career in the exciting world of transportation.
Once you earn your MR truck licence, you’ll be qualified to safely operate vehicles with a 2-axle Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) exceeding 8 tonnes. This opens doors to a wide range of transportation jobs.

ENTRY Requirements
To apply for a higher licence class, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must have held your current licence for a set period. This period must have occurred in the last 5 years (excluding any time that your licence was suspended, surrendered, canceled, or expired).
- Hold an open or provisional class C or LR licence for 12 months
- Pay the test booking fee to the Department of Transport and Main Roads
- Pass a heavy vehicle knowledge test.
Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test
- Before beginning your medium rigid licence training with us, you must have completed a written heavy vehicle knowledge test taken at a Department of Transport and Main Roads service centre (click here for locations).
- There are ten questions in the test, and you need eight out of ten correct answers to gain your heavy vehicle learner’s licence.

MR Synchro/Automatic – Small Package – $799 + $64.95 booking
- 4 hours Practical Driving
- Transport and Main Road practical test
- Additional Qld booking fee
- Any additional practical training $120 per hour
- Courses run Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 4.30pm.
Breakdown: 1x 3 hour driving lesson, 1 hour prior to test & Test time
Marvel Magic Package

- 6 hours Practical Driving
- Transport and Main Road practical test
- Additional Qld booking fee
- Any additional practical training $120 per hour
