Funded Trade Start Programs

Major is offering industry supported and funded training through the Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Trade Start initiatives.

CSQ has covered the Student Contribution fees on your behalf & the courses provide you with job-ready skills through an entry-level qualification, life skills training, workplace experience and green building skills and can link you with employers for real work opportunities.

CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction
• Yatala Monday the 27th July 2020
• Morayfield Monday the 3rd August 2020
• Course runs for 8 Weeks
• Includes Work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
• 38 hour Life Skills program & Ready for Work Kit included
• 160 hours (4 weeks) full time equivalent unpaid work placement
• CSQ has covered the Student Contribution fees on students behalf.

RII20115 Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation
• Yatala Monday the 20th July 2020
• Morayfield Monday the 3rd August 2020
• Course runs for 8 Weeks
• Includes HLTAID003 Provide first aid & RIIWHS204D Work safely at heights
• 38 hour Life Skills program & Ready for Work Kit included
• 160 hours (4 weeks) full time equivalent unpaid work placement
• CSQ has covered the Student Contribution fees on students behalf.

Eligibility Criteria
• Be an Australian or NZ citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a Refugee and humanitarian Visa holder.
• A permanent resident in Queensland

Trade Start is suited to people with no previous building or construction experience, including school leavers, unemployed or those working in a different profession. These programs are for participants who live in the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Logan regions.
