OVERVIEW
To work in confined spaces as part of your trade job, you’ll need to complete the unit of competency RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces.
This nationally recognised course from Major Training covers this unit and the essential skills and safety procedures required for confined space entry, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), gas testing and atmospheric monitoring, hazard identification, emergency response procedures, and confined space rescue.
Who is this ideal for? Construction workers, electricians, maintenance technicians, industrial cleaners, and mechanical fitters are typically expected to navigate tight spaces to perform certain operations. Confined space training is required across Brisbane’s thriving construction, utilities, logistics, shipping, electrotechnology, and infrastructure sectors.
Complete your training at our Brisbane confined space training facility, or we can deliver it directly to your work site. With a confined spaces ticket, you’ll have the skills to access a wider range of roles and unlock new career opportunities across multiple industries.
Course Details
Our Brisbane-based confined spaces course combines classroom theories and real-world applications. It’s designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to safely enter, work in, and exit confined spaces that aren’t intended to serve as regular work areas.
By completing the course, you’ll get your confined space ticket so that you can start doing confined space work legally in Brisbane, Queensland, and beyond the state borders. An additional ticket means a significant expansion of your skill set, leading to increased employability across multiple industries that require confined space qualifications.
Confined spaces training in Brisbane is particularly relevant, as the area is buzzing with major infrastructure projects, including preparations for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Public transport and the city itself will undergo significant changes, and the planned Victoria Park Precinct is a large-scale development that’s sure to create a whole lot of job opportunities.
There’s also the planned expansion of Brisbane Metro, included in Infrastructure Australia’s 2026 Infrastructure Priority List. The ongoing Coomera Connector (partially completed) is another noteworthy project in the city.
All of these massive developments require diverse industries working hand in hand and in phases. There’s civil engineering and construction, logistics and supply chain, telecommunications and IT, environmental and sustainability, and safety and risk management. One look at each and every one, and it’s clear that confined space training is valuable across all of these sectors.

Confined Space Training Brisbane Career Pathways
The “Enter and Work in Confined Spaces” qualification equips employees with the knowledge and skills needed to enter and perform essential tasks in confined spaces. By learning how to follow safety protocols while in a high-risk environment, workers can become effective in recognising potential hazards and utilising equipment. The skills you gain from our training make a real difference in scenarios where confined spaces can become unpredictable.
As previously noted, a confined space qualification is required for roles that involve working in spaces with limited entry and exit points, like construction, mining, oil and gas, water infrastructure, manufacturing, and utilities. If you have this additional ticket, there are plenty of career opportunities waiting for you to explore.
