September this year saw Elise take out the coveted excellence award of Junior Apprentice of the Year in the Apprenticeships Queensland Awards 2023, which was proudly sponsored by Major Training. This was a remarkable achievement and testament to her dedication, hard work and aptitude as a fitter and turner. The awards also acknowledged another promising Drake Group apprentice, Nicholas Powter, who was commended for his remarkable skills and dedication, securing the position of runner-up.
The annual Apprenticeships Queensland Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of employees and their commitment to their respective apprenticeships. It is an important benchmark in the year to give nod and appreciation to apprentices who are the future of the industry.
Elise’s journey was not one of solitary achievement, but a testament to the power of teamwork and mentorship provided to her while working at The Drake Group.
