The Hub of Hope

We were recently humbled to be able to provide the selfless volunteers at Set Free Care with their First Aid Certificates, ensuring that they feel confident to deliver first aid care if they were to ever find themselves in that situation caring for others. Whilst delivering this training, we were blown away at the incredible scope of services Set Free Care provides to the Gold Coast community and wanted to advocate for their need for essential funding through donations.

Since 1996, Set Free Care has existed to truly care for people in need. What started out as a place to provide a meal, has become a hub of hope for many. This space was created to offer a hand up, a place where judgement and discrimination are not welcome and the vulnerable have a safe place to land during hardship or transition.

Located at 21 Rawlins Street Southport, the hub offers services like breakfast and lunch, hot shower facilities, a laundry service, an affordable opportunity shop, pantry packs, counselling and social welfare support.

On June 28th, Set Free Care are launching the Food Distribution Centre. This will be the first of its kind on the Gold Coast and will provide a base for charities to distribute food who also care for people facing hardship.

As a not for profit organisation, funding is essential to keep these projects running as an essential service for our community. If you are in a position to make a donation, please follow this LINK. Tax deductible receipts are available upon request for any donations over $2.
