The CPC30320 Certificate III in Concreting from Major Training is designed to lay the foundations for a career in this growth industry with a Certificate III in Concreting. This concreting traineeship is designed to meet the needs of concreters working in concreting operations on residential and commercial projects.

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Course Details

A Certificate III in Concreting can open up entry-level & experienced job opportunities such as Concrete or a Concrete pump operator.

While there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, for a trainee pathway the learner must be employed full time or part time and have access to a workplace to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the Unit of Competency requirements.

People entering the workforce to undertake a traineeship in the construction sector, they may have minimal or some prior skills or Statements of Attainment which may be recognised through our recognition process. Delivered through SRTO requirements including development of a Training Plan, Employer Resource Assessment and completion of a Training Record.

Concreting Traineeship

A Certificate III in Concreting provides individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to work in the construction industry, specialising in the preparation, pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete structures. Graduates of this program are equipped to contribute to various construction projects where concrete work is a key component.

Possible Roles

Concrete Finisher: As a concrete finisher, you'll be responsible for ensuring the final appearance and texture of concrete surfaces. This involves tasks such as troweling, smoothing, and applying finishes to achieve the desired look and functionality.

Concrete Pump Operator: Concrete pump operators operate specialised equipment to transfer concrete from the mixing truck to the construction site. This role requires precision in controlling the flow of concrete and managing pumping equipment.

Concrete Cutter and Core Driller: Working as a concrete cutter and core driller, you'll use specialised tools and equipment to create openings, holes, and precise cuts in concrete surfaces for installation of utilities, expansion joints, or decorative purposes.

Concrete Repair and Restoration Technician: In this role, you'll specialise in repairing and restoring existing concrete structures that have suffered damage, wear, or deterioration. You'll use techniques such as patching, resurfacing, and applying protective coatings.

Concrete Estimator: As a concrete estimator, you'll analyse construction plans and specifications to determine the quantity of concrete required for projects. This role involves calculating costs, material amounts, and labor needs for accurate project budgeting.

Formwork Carpenter: Formwork carpenters construct the temporary structures (forms) used to hold wet concrete in place until it hardens. They create the framework that defines the shape and size of concrete structures, such as walls, slabs, and columns.ctor: Building inspectors assess and ensure the compliance of structures with building codes and regulations. A Certificate III in Carpentry provides a solid foundation for this role's understanding of construction practices.

Potential wages could be in the region of $80,000 to $100,000 per year

Smaller classes better and more knowledgeable teachers who care about the students and more flexible learning (being able to do most of the work from home). TAFE felt like it was just there to keep apprentices there for as long as possible (spending 8 hours to do 2 hours of work) but here it’s all based around the student, come in for the morning to to finish up units then go back to work for the rest of the day.
