In a groundbreaking move that is set to redefine the landscape of Australia’s luxury marine industry, Riviera Australia, the nation’s leading luxury yacht builder, recently opened a cutting-edge training facility at their headquarters in Coomera, aptly named, “The Academy of Excellence”.
The facility was meticulously designed and curated to train the next generation of skilled craftsmen, as Riviera Australia commits to training a staggering annual intake of 52 apprentices and trainees in various departments and trades essential to yacht building this year.
Major Training Group were proud to attend the unveiling of “The Academy of Excellence” which drew an enthusiastic crowd of future students and their proud families, with excitement and pride palpable on the day.
The academy and bespoke marine geared training streams and qualifications, have been created by Riviera’s Training Manager Keira Badke, entrusting Major Training Group as their chosen registered training organisation, and BUSY At Work, for apprenticeship support, a partnership and movement we are immensely proud of.

The new facility is a testament to Riviera Australia’s vision for the future, where craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology.
The training facility, is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to provide a conducive environment for learning and skill development. Boasting two large workshops fitted out with floor to ceiling shelves of brand-new Milwaukee power tools, a specially designed drafting room, learning rooms and conference room facilities, students will experience a modern, state of the art environment to learn their craft.
