Major Training Group Celebrates Training Over 10,000 Students in the Construction Industry by Utilising Construction Skills Queensland Funding.
Major Training Group, in partnership with Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), proudly announces a significant milestone in their decade-exceeding collaboration. Since 2013, this partnership has trained over 10,000 students in the construction industry, providing essential skills and qualifications that have shaped the future of Queensland’s workforce.
This achievement highlights the success of the funding supplied by CSQ, which has enabled Major Training Group to offer a wide range of training programs tailored to the needs of the construction sector. From short courses to comprehensive qualifications, the training covers critical areas such as (but not limited to) civil construction, High Risk Work Licenses, construction, safety and short courses.
“We are immensely proud of our long-standing partnership with CSQ and the impact it has had on the construction industry in Queensland,” said Corey Bowles, General Manager of Major Training Group.
“Training over 10,000 students is a testament to our shared commitment to up-skilling and workforce development.”
The programs funded by CSQ have been designed to address the evolving needs of the construction industry, ensuring that participants gain up-to-date skills and knowledge. This includes hands-on training, led by our experienced instructors who bring real-world insights to the classroom.
Jake Austin, a student who was eligible for the CSQ funding working in civil construction, shared his experience: “The training was so good. I wouldn’t have been in a position to pay for this ticket myself. The courses were relevant and practical, and the instructors were knowledgeable and really knew their stuff.”
The success of this partnership is reflected not only in the number of students trained but also in the quality of education provided. Major Training Group’s programs have consistently received positive feedback from both students and industry employers, highlighting the value of the skills, tickets and qualifications obtained.
“Our decade-long relationship with CSQ has allowed us to continuously improve and expand our suite of services,” added Bowles. “This collaboration ensures that we meet the specific needs of the construction sector.”
The impact of this training extends beyond individual success stories. By equipping a skilled workforce, Major Training Group and CSQ are contributing to the growth and sustainability of Queensland’s construction industry which is currently suffering a dire skills shortage. This, in turn, supports the broader economic development of the state, achieving the overall shared goal of the Queensland Government.
Chris Dunlop, an employer in the construction industry, emphasized the importance of the program: “The training provided by Major Training Group and funded by CSQ is crucial for our industry. We have been able to put through workers seamlessly to up-skill and return to site with new skills to add to the team. The training has been a vital part of our success as a business also.”
Looking ahead, Major Training Group remains committed to its partnership and endorsement of the fundamental work CSQ is achieving in making training accessible to the industry.
