TLILIC0005 Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more) is the required course needed to apply for a high-risk work licence. The training takes you through the key considerations involved in EWP work, from getting the equipment ready for use to performing the job safely once you’re up in the air. We’re talking pre-start checks and inspections, hazard identification and risk control, workplace health and safety requirements, safe operating practices, communication with your workmates, and shutdown procedures.
Once you’re done assessing what this training can bring to the table and how it aligns with your career goals, you can take the first step by enrolling with an RTO. From there, it takes just three days to complete the course. Upon successfully completing the required training and assessment, you’ll receive your Statement of Attainment. With this certification in hand, you’re then eligible to apply for a high- risk work licence.

This EWP training is ideal for people in construction who are looking to upskill or those who want to break into the industry. To enrol in this EWP (over 11 metres) course, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
- Pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)
- Minimum 18 years of age (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)

- Individuals on a student visa are not eligible to enroll in this course.

Full EWP Training & Assessment Course
Duration: 3 days
Time: 6.30am to 3pm
- This EWP course will teach you everything you need to know from start to finish, delivered in person over 3 days by our team of experts.
- Both the formal and informal requirements of the training are completed in a controlled environment at Major Training’s simulated worksite on the Gold Coast.
- Theoretical learning will be presented through videos, live demonstrations, and instructions.
- One day of practical assessment at our facility where you’ll operate an elevating work platform.
- A practical skills logbook for you to record your experiences during the course.
- In addition to a logbook, training plan, full assessment, and training manual are also included as part of your training materials.
