For operating heavy machinery and gaining a useful pathway into civil construction, we provide excavator training in Brisbane. Our experienced trainers will give you the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to operate an excavator safely and efficiently. Completing the RIIMPO320F Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations prepares you to work with excavators across construction, transport, mining, agriculture, and civil projects.

Course Details
Workers interested in operating an excavator on active construction sites and civil projects are required to hold a valid excavator ticket in order to perform these duties. To get an excavator ticket, you’ll need to complete the nationally recognised unit of competency (RIIMPO320F Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations) through an approved training provider such as Major Training.
Our Brisbane excavator training covers pre-operational inspections, safe operating techniques, excavation duties (digging, trenching, placing materials), fitting attachments, WHS regulations and site safety, post-operative procedures, and machine operator maintenance.
The course is delivered over a 3-day period and in a real construction environment. Expect to become job-ready for civil construction excavator operations after completing both the training and assessment components of the program.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in this excavator course, students must:
- Be able to read and write basic English
- Pass a language, literacy, and numeracy assessment (LLN)
- Be mechanically minded with an interest in operating heavy machinery
- Be a minimum of 16 years of age
- Provide two forms of identification
- Wear steel-capped or safety boots on site
- Sun protection is also recommended (hat, long sleeves, and pants)

Course Details
Three-Day Excavator Course
Duration: 2 days training, 1 day assessment
Time: 6.30am to 3pm
- Quality training materials (logbook, training plan, training manual, full assessment, heavy machinery)
- Three days of intense, competency-based training and assessment delivered by our exceptional trainers and assessors
- Intensive theoretical and practical training conducted in our classroom facilities over two days
- Theoretical learning will be presented through videos, live demonstrations, and instructions
- One day of practical assessment at our facility where you’ll operate an excavator
- A practical skills logbook for you to record your experiences during the course
- Courses run Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday from 6:30 am until 3.00 pm
