Did you know? The Electrical Safety Act mandates employers in Queensland to test and tag electrical equipment on a regular basis. Hence, test and tag training is a crucial requirement among professionals across multiple industries, including construction, mining and energy, oil and gas, electrotechnology, and civil construction. The good thing is, in just 8-10 hours of online training and one day face-to-face (or two days in person if you haven’t previously completed the UEECD0007 unit), you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment to make your test and tagging duties official.

Our training course fully teaches test and tag materials and concepts. They are covered in the nationally recognised units below:
- UEERL0003: Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord-connected equipment and cord assemblies
- UEECD0007: Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
The Test and Tag course will equip you with the following skills:
- Conduct tests on portable electrical equipment using a portable appliance tester
- Work in accordance with workplace procedures for identifying hazards and controlling risks
- Perform on-site inspections and apply safe working procedures for compliant outcomes
- Prepare necessary risk assessment documentation to meet Australian Standard AS3760 and electrical safety regulations
- Conduct testing of electrical cord-connected equipment and cord assemblies to ensure safety
- Tag electrical equipment, complete documentation, and follow workplace procedures as per applicable laws
- Complete cord-connected equipment documentation, tagging records, and incident report forms

What happens after completing the course? You’ll get a statement of attainment (SOA) as proof that you’ve satisfactorily completed the required units. After this, you’ll need to apply for a restricted electrical licence at the Electrical Safety Office (ESO). The restricted electrical licence only applies to electrical testing and tagging work. Once completed, you will be fully qualified to test and tag in Queensland.

Course Details
TEST AND TAG COURSE
Duration: 8 – 10 hours of online training PLUS 1 – 2 days face-to-face training.
When: Mondays, once a month
- Delivery is blended learning, online theory, and face-to-face assessment, as well as practical applications.
- Everything you need from start to finish at our Gold Coast test and tag training facility.
- 8-10 hours of high-quality online training, plus one day of face-to-face training delivered by our knowledgeable and highly experienced team (or two days if you also need to complete the UEECD0007 unit).
- This course runs on Mondays, once a month.
- IMPORTANT: The online assessment must be completed prior to attending training. Failure to complete it in time will result in cancellation of enrolment.
