Riviera and Major Training Group’s Collaboration Partnership Named Finalist in the 2024 Queensland Training Awards
Major Training Group is proud to announce its selection as a finalist in the prestigious 2024 Queensland Training Awards, hosted by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. Our company has been recognised for its outstanding collaboration partnership with Riviera Australia, which has provided exceptional training opportunities for trainees and apprentices through their purpose-built Academy of Excellence. This achievement places us in the running for the Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award at the upcoming state final on the 7th of September, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Queensland Training Awards celebrate excellence in training and the significant contributions made by organisations to the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Our nomination in the Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award category underscores the success of our innovative partnership with Riviera Australia. This collaboration has enabled us to deliver high-quality and bespoke training programs that equip trainees and apprentices with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their careers.
“We are honored to be named finalists for the Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award,” said Mathew Tenkate, CEO of Major Training Group.
“Our partnership with Riviera Australia exemplifies our commitment to fostering industry excellence and providing modern training opportunities. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and focus we invest into up-skilling and training the next generation of skilled craftsman.”
Riviera Australia’s Academy of Excellence is a purpose-built training facility and represents a $10 million capital investment by Riviera. The academy accommodates a comprehensive range of programs designed to meet the needs of the marine industry. Through our collaboration and as Rivieras preferred registered training organisation, Major has been able to offer hands-on training, mentorship, and career development opportunities to aspiring students, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry. Riviera currently employs an ever-growing number of 140 apprentices from a diverse range of backgrounds, including 27 school-based apprentices, 23 mature age apprentices and 22 female apprentices.
As we look forward to the upcoming Queensland Training Awards ceremony, we remain dedicated to our mission of delivering exceptional training and fostering strong industry partnerships. We are grateful for this recognition and anticipate a bright future partnership with Riviera Australia.
