Course Details
The UEE42622 Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas (known as EEHA training), teaches you to select, manage, install, maintain, commission, and test explosion-protected equipment in hazardous areas. You’ll learn how to inspect electrical equipment and employ common testing procedures in high-risk locations.
Who’s the EEHA course for? EEHA training is essential for mid and senior-level electrical workers, licensed electricians, electrical engineers, and instrumentation technicians who want to upskill and take on more advanced, higher-paying work in hazardous environments. This EEHA course in Queensland is ideal for anyone who works in electrotechnology, construction, engineering, mining and energy, oil and gas, food processing, and manufacturing.
What skills will you learn? EEHA training covers advanced health and safety topics and prepares you for work in high-risk, hazardous areas. Upon successful completion of this EEHA course, you’ll learn how to:
- Conduct visual and close inspections of electrical installations
- Manage and read explosion-protected equipment in hazardous areas
- Understand the requirements for a specified classified hazardous area
- Follow explosive protection techniques (like Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, and Ex m) and apply them to gas and dust atmospheres
- Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
- Compile and produce energy sector reports
- Plan electrical equipment and installations for hazardous areas
At the end of the course, you’ll be given a statement of attainment that proves your competencies in these skills, which form part of the Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas. You’ll be able to take on more electrical work in high-risk locations, such as power plants, chemical factories, oil refineries, production lines, and large-scale commercial operations and target higher-paying jobs.
